There was just one goal I didn’t accomplish while mayor, and that was to offer training to elected representatives about their roles and responsibilities on the many boards on which they serve. My knowledge came from building my own corporate board at the age of 24 as a foreigner and entrepreneur. Having set up a board and served on many corporate, government, and non-profit boards in the U.S. and U.K., I could see that the caliber of training I received from The Scottish Business School at Glasgow University and from the chairman of an international bank could benefit others and those they serve.
You are invited to my presentation at the 2023 Global Summit for E-learning Entrepreneurs: The Secrets of Boardsmanship: BUILD & BE A BOARD PRO, Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 a.m. PST. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8402369954 My presentation is free using the Zoom link.
Here’s a taste of what I’ll share:
1. The #1 Most Important Thing that a good board member must do.
2. The #1 Thing that the best boards have.
3. The #1 Thing psychiatrists say will prevent fraud in your organization.
I hope to see you there!
