The #MeToo movement has brought to light many instances of abuse of position to gain sexual gratification. In a government setting it could be called Misfeasance – Performance of an official duty in an improper or unlawful manner or with an improper or corrupt motive. After years of hearing reports of council members and mayors sexually harassing staff and community members one mayor finally got his #MeToo moment. One whistleblower’s accusations that he sexually harassed a subordinate and member of the public were found to be credible and he had to resign from his position, the first time in the history of the city that a complainant was protected at the expense of the perpetrator, rather than vice versa.
