We were taught in civics classes, and the U.S. Constitution states that elected representatives and public officials work for the people. Collectively we have created and own our government institutions and are the ultimate employers of those we elect and those who run the institutions. The buck stops with us. It is our money that runs the institution, and it is our lives, livelihoods, personal safety, and quality of life that the institutions protect.

Something to consider –

What are your expectations of your elected officials?

  • Are they fulfilling them, either as a group, or individually?
  • If you were their employer, would you keep them in the job?
  • If you were their employer, could you ethically or legally keep them in their job?
